American Hustle [Movie-2013]

If you need to describe a brilliant con movie, you describe American Hustle. Simple, yet extraordinarily, Irving Rosenfeld [Christian Bale] and Sydney Prosser [Amy Adams] play the perfect con on the over ambitious cop Richard DiMaso [Bradley Cooper]

David Russel has brought on, some of the best actors in industry, and has delivered an award winning movie. The glorious plot, combined with the stupendous acting from Bale, Cooper, Adams, Lawrence and even Renner; the brilliant cinematography, and the elegant costumes and the dialogue delivery, make way for a masterpiece.

The best part about the movie which I liked, is inclusion of subtle comedy, amidst a serious drama film.

Inspired by real events, the plot kicks off from the Irving and Sydney meeting each other at a party at immediately, hitting it off. Both being con artists, embark, on a lucrative business, to rake hard earned money from the pockets of the middle class people, via deception. They are, caught by officer Richie DiMaso, during a sting operation. To gain their freedom, both Irving and Sydney have to assist the police in catching more fraudsters. While working for the cops, they play on an elaborate scheme, and have the last laugh.

Brilliant supporting roles by Jennifer Lawrence, who is already the biggest and the best and the hottest thing in Hollywood currently. Pulling off a role, which requires to play a woman, 10-15 years elder to you real age, is a task; which Lawrence does convincingly.

Christian Bale, is at the top, among the best actors to work, and his versatility, is things of Legends. Amy Adams, and Bradley Cooper too further their reputation as class actors. We have a fine and powerful cameo from Robert DeNiro too.

I felt, the movie was a bit stretched, and overwhelming for the regular audience. It could have been cut down a bit. Otherwise, a perfect movie, a definite watch.

My Rating - 8.2/10
