Rush [Movie - 2013]

Rush. Thrilling. The movie literally gives you an adrenalin rush. Brilliantly made. A better movie on F1 could not be made. A movie, to make on true events is highly challenging, but director Ron Howard seems to pull it off with such comfort. The engines, cars, tracks give you the an identical feeling of a Grand Prix of the 70's.

Both actors, Chris Hemsworth [James Hunt] and Daniel Bruhl [Niki Lauda] have performed brilliantly, and the rivalry is portrayed so intensely and accurately, one is reminisced of the old days.

The story is focused on the rivalry between Niki Lauda and James Hunt over the course of their racing career. From the Formula 3 championships to the World Famous Formula 1, these two were always at loggerheads with each other. Niki Lauda is depicted as a great engineer, and a highly intelligent and calculative racer, who is also disciplined and focused. While, James Hunt is shown as the proverbial celebrity, with an aura and personality expunged by him, furnished with controversies, broken minded, and the prodigal playboy. The movie follows the intense rivalry, and majorly focusing on one glum day in Germany, wherein the race, Lauda, landed himself in an accident, and thereby, suffered major burns on his body and face; and the after-effects of the crash, Lauda's motivation, comeback, Hunt's rise, on winning the championship, and his fall thereon and Lauda's rise.

I bet people, will be highly inspired by Lauda's story. I, myself was touched by the story, and got goosebumps when we see the scene where Lauda is trying to pull on the helmet, even at the hospital.

Definitely, a watch. A must-watch for sport, and especially Formula 1 lovers.

My rating - 8.2/10
