Before Sunrise [Movie-1995]

Has to be one of the most brilliant romantic movies I've ever seen. It's so simple yet so mesmerising. It dares to go away from the clichéd movies of the genre, and yet seems to win the hearts of those who watch it.

Jesse [Ethan Hawke] and Céline [Julie Delphy] meet on a train departing from Budapest and immediately strike a connection. Jesse asks Céline, whose name he doesn't even no yet, to spend the day with him in Vienna, from where Jesse has a flight back to United States the next morning. They spend the entire day, and night together, walking, talking, in bars, restaurants, and in the park, amidst, falling for each other. Knowing they will probably not meet again, they decide to carry out the time they have left in the best way possible.
They sleep together in the park, as none of them have enough money to stay somewhere. The next morning, when they depart, they decide to meet again after 6 months at the very same spot.

Thus ends, one of the most fascinating, yet simple romances on screen. The conversations are enough to keep you engrossed in the movie, with Delphy, portraying such bubbly-ness, and Hawke, depicting a shy, yet charming man. Fact that the movie is shot in Vienna, makes it much more beautiful, as it is one of the more beautiful cities of Europe.

In all, highly enjoyable movie. Look forward to watching the sequel now.

My Rating - 7.9/10
